Local Federal Member for Dunkley, Bruce Billson today joined the Mayor of Frankston and many international guests to officially open the Victorian Innovative Science and Technology complex in Seaford.

Mr Billson said the Complex is a hub for environmental technology and engineering businesses and has been attracting local and international attention.

“The Complex will house a range of companies and firms working in the fields of environmental technology, engineering and aquaculture,” Mr Billson said.

“Many of these firms have been operating on their own for a few years and now it’s great to see through collaboration and innovation they will all be housed under one roof, working to address global environmental issues.

“In a global environment, where Australian businesses often cannot compete on price or scale, collaboration and innovation allows our businesses to create products that can compete on quality and uniqueness.

“The Federal Government is playing its part in helping firms succeed by lowering company taxes and reducing red tape and it’s great to see businesses taking advantage of this.

“Lower compliance costs will give small businesses more time and resources to focus on themselves and doing what they do best – creating wealth and jobs.”

Founder of the Complete and Conceptus Group, Ramon Russell, said the Complex has already made several national and international scientific discoveries.

“Working with and using the local businesses in the area is important to us and part of our philosophy, just as much as addressing the urgent technical challenges of the environment,” Mr Russell said.

“We have been aided in that task by close collaboration with Australian industry, which we are seeking to expand on this and next year.

“Gaining assistance from colleagues and their professional experience in the development of business strategies has been of great assistance and comfort.

“We strongly feel the importance of giving back to society and it is for that reason due to concept success, we have forged relationships that will assist Down Syndrome Australia and the Orphans In The Storm Foundation” Mr Russell Said.

The Complex will provide participating businesses benefits through branding and marketing, and help them to attract high-skilled, quality staff.
