Stronger Communities Programme – Apply for a part of $150,000
Wednesday 24th February 2016
Local clubs, not-for-profit organisations and councils are encouraged to apply for a share in $150,000 made available under Round two of the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Programme. The funding can be used for capital expenditure to assist local community projects.
As the Member for Dunkley, I am extremely excited to announce that expressions of interest for this great opportunity are now being accepted. This is a fantastic opportunity for community groups to fund small capital projects which support community participation and contribute to the vibrancy and viability of our local area.
Our clubs and community organisations are the very heartbeat of our Dunkley. We are lucky to have so many incredible people committed to strengthening our local area.
The Federal Government is continuing to invest in those who are investing their valuable time and effort in us – that is what this programme is about.
I encourage locals to apply for grants of between $5,000 and $20,000 from the programme. One of the key criteria is that funding be provided dollar for dollar or in-kind to match the amount sought through the programme.
The funding can be used to finish off an existing project, or start a capital works project that your club or organisation has ready to go.
Applications will be assessed by an independent Panel which I am Charing. The Panel will comprises a cross section of community members from the Dunkley electorate.
I encourage all community groups and clubs to have a look at what can be done to value-add to your organisation and, as a result, the community in general – these are the projects that our community panellists will be looking for.
